Stephanie CW Telles, MBA – Chairwoman

Mrs. Telles is an Operations Analyst for Wells Fargo Bank; former Owner of National Youth Sports; former Division Manager for New Mexico Legal Group, P.C.; and former Regional Field Director for the Democratic Party of New Mexico.



Loyda Martínez – Vice Chair

Mrs. Martínez is a former Human Rights Commissioner for the State of New Mexico under Gov. Bill Richardson; former Educator Accountability Coordinator for the State of New Mexico; recipient of the Dolores Huerta Award from Hispano Roundtable of New Mexico; and a National Hispana Leadership Institute Fellow who spent more than 20 years as a Systems Administrator for Los Alamos National Laboratories.



Jennifer Gómez-Chávez – Secretary

Ms. Gómez-Chávez is the Director of Student Academic Success at the Univ. of New Mexico; and the Director of the Unidos Lumina Grant at the Univ. of New Mexico.





Esther Rivera – Treasurer

Ms. Rivera is a member of the Hispanic Education Advisory Council of New Mexico, appointed by Gov. Susana Martínez; a New Mexico State PTA Board Member; a member of the Albuquerque Public Schools Redistricting Committee; board member and past President of MANA de Albuquerque; member of the Hispanic Roundtable of New Mexico; Rio Grande High School Alumni Association Lifetime Member. As a member of the Rio Grande High School PTA, Ms. Rivera successfully drafted and filed a class-action lawsuit and appeal in Trujillo & Rivera versus Albuquerque Public Schools, upholding parents’ rights to be involved in their children’s education. Ms. Rivera holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Univ. of New Mexico, an associate’s degree in culinary arts from California Culinary Academy, and a Civic Engagement Leadership Institute certificate from Central New Mexico Community College.


urlDiane Torres-Velásquez, PhD

Dr. Torres-Velásquez is an Associate Professor of Education at the University of New Mexico; the past chair of the New Mexico Latino Education Task Force; the former Hispanic Education Liaison for the New Mexico Public Education Department; and a member of the American Educational Research Association.
